Klay
Five floors of fitness, food, and friends in a 19th-century factory
Editorβs Take
The restaurant is open to non-members β book for dinner to scope the vibe before committing to membership. The Thursday 19:00 boxing class is legendary and fills up 48 hours in advance.
About
Klay occupies a 19th-century industrial building in the Sentier district, and the conversion is inspired: exposed iron beams, original brickwork, and vast windows flooding five floors with natural light. It functions as gym, pool club, hammam, and restaurant in a single vertical village. The ground-floor restaurant β with a menu that could stand alone in the neighborhood β sets the tone: this is a place designed for lingering, not just lifting. The fitness offer is substantial. A 25-metre pool sits in a light-filled atrium. Group classes run all day β boxing, yoga, Pilates, HIIT β and the energy in the packed evening sessions is electric. The hammam on the lower level provides genuine recovery, with eucalyptus steam and cold rinses. The gym floors are well-equipped without feeling like a warehouse. But Klay's real genius is social architecture. The restaurant and bar create a natural meeting point before and after training. The communal changing areas, the shared pool lanes, the group classes β everything nudges interaction. It's the rare fitness space where people make actual friends, not just nod at regulars. Weekend brunch after a Saturday morning class has become a Sentier institution.
