SAA / 154 Scott
30,000sqft where spa meets studio meets supper club
Editorβs Take
Request a tour before applying β the scale of the space is hard to appreciate from photos. The spa is best used as a creative recovery tool between working sessions. Member events are the fastest way to integrate into the community.
About
SAA doesn't fit neatly into any category, which is exactly the point. Spread across 30,000 square feet of converted East Williamsburg warehouse, it combines a full-service spa with coworking space, art studios, recording studios, a restaurant, and multiple bars. The concept is a creative members club where wellness isn't a separate department β it's embedded in the infrastructure of how people work, create, eat, drink, and recover. The spa floor is no afterthought. Sauna, treatments, and recovery spaces are designed with the same seriousness as the recording studios and art galleries. The idea is that a musician might finish a session in the booth, decompress in the sauna, eat dinner downstairs, and return to the studio refreshed β all without leaving the building. For visual artists, the progression might be studio, spa, bar, studio. SAA builds wellness into creative workflow rather than treating it as a separate appointment. The members-only model creates a community that is aggressively creative and socially fluid. The programming crosses disciplines constantly β an artist-in-residence might collaborate with a musician in the recording studio, then both end up at a member dinner. The wellness infrastructure makes the whole ecosystem more sustainable; creative work without recovery burns people out, and SAA has designed against that failure mode. It's expensive, exclusive, and utterly unlike anything else in New York.
