Wi Spa
LA's 24-Hour Korean Mega-Spa
Editor’s Take
The body scrub is non-negotiable — book the full package. The specialty sauna circuit on the upper floors is less crowded on weekday mornings. Late-night visits (after 10 PM) have a unique, meditative energy. Bring a book for the jjimjilbang rest area. Cash tips for scrub masters are appreciated.
About
Wi Spa is an institution. For over twenty years, this 48,000-square-foot, five-floor behemoth in the heart of Koreatown has been Los Angeles's most democratic wellness space — open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, welcoming everyone from Korean families continuing centuries-old bathing traditions to curious newcomers discovering jjimjilbang culture for the first time.\n\nThe facilities are comprehensive in the way only a Korean mega-spa can be. Multiple floors house specialty saunas — clay, jade, salt, and charcoal rooms each maintained at different temperatures for different therapeutic benefits. Hot and cold pools dot the bathing floors. The jjimjilbang common area, where guests in matching uniforms rest on heated floors, watch TV, and eat Korean snacks, is the social heart of the experience.\n\nThe Korean body scrub (seshin) is the must-do treatment. Performed by experienced Korean scrub masters, it's a vigorous, thorough exfoliation that removes dead skin you didn't know you had and leaves you feeling genuinely reborn. Wi Spa's prices remain remarkably accessible given the breadth of facilities, making it one of the best wellness values in Los Angeles. Come at 2 AM on a Saturday and you'll still find it buzzing with life.
